I can't tell you how difficult it is to describe how sad I am to be leaving. When I got here (UKM) years ago, I would never have realised how connected I would be to such a warm community of people - CSSUKM. Many times I have been humbled by the kindness of your hearts. Tomorrow I will wake up in my new life, full of yet-to-be realised opportunities, and empty of your company...I will be in a strange limbo. You've helped me through some difficult times, and shared the joyous times in yours. Some people judge their lives on what they do, others on who they are. I want my life judged on the friends I keep, and how enriched I am from just knowing you. To quote Shakespeare, who is a better word-smith than I am: 

To see you in the gathering is a picture I will treasure for a very long time. So, until the next time we gather, my very dear friends, farewell for now.

A shot during the CSSUKM Annual Dinner last night... ^_^

First and foremost, yours truly would like to wish Blessed Valentine's Day to all (to those who wish to celebrate it). 

Recently, an issue pertaining to the celebration of Valentine's day in Malaysia being raised by a religious person in her show in local TV station. It has stirred some dissatisfaction among the Christian community due to her statement in which she mentions "Maksiat, disko, couple-couple, bersunyi-sunyian, inilah tradisi bagi masyarakat yang beragama Kristian" (“immoral activities, discoing, couples meeting in private, were traditions of the Christian community”)

It is true that Valentine's Day is a celebration to commemorate Saint Valentine - an early Christian martyrs. However, simply relating Valentine's Day with vice activities is definitely a big no-no! As a Christian (Catholic), I am very much saddened by the statement. I mean like hello? Vice activities = Christian's traditions? TRADITIONS!

Shall we not make a big hoo-haa about this issue? If one doesn't want to celebrate Valentine's day then be it. It's one's personal preference and other individuals shouldn't have any say about that. 

Personally, Valentine's day is a day in which people get to be reminded on how important love is in our live. As cliche as it might sounds, everyday is Valentine's day but this particular day (14th February) sets as a reminder for all of us that we should spread love amongst each other and not incite hatred. Bear in mind, the thought that matters. So, it is our duty to spread the true (pure) message of the Valentine's day (i.e. love one another). 

Bottom line is...it is inappropriate to relate Valentine's day with vice activities and thus at the same time relate it with Christian traditions. Christianity never promotes adultery and I am very much sure other religions also do the same. To those small groups of community that condemn Valentine's day simply because it is directly related to vice activities - God bless you. Spread love instead of hatred.

Again, have a blessed Valentine's day to those who wish to celebrate it.

My apology. It's been a while I didn't update this infamous blog of mine. I put the blame on the internet connection. Be it at home or even in campus itself. I can't seem to go through the line therefore leaving this blog not updated. 

Recent happenings in a nutshell:

I went back home during the recent CNY break. I spent 10 days at home and the reason why I chose to go back was simply because I want to send back all the unused stuff in my room back in campus. It's going to be my last semester in UKM and I should start planning on how to transfer the remaining stuff to KK. I guess I'm going to donate some of it to the juniors. *wink*

For a couple continuous days, my classmates and I went for costume hunting (for our drama assignment) as well as looking for the engagement gifts. Don't get me wrong. Not for my engagement. It's for a good friend of mine. She's going to get engaged soon. So, my friends and I decided to help her with the preparation. One thing for sure, it ain't easy to prepare for the engagement gift. It can be extremely complicated and confusions do get inflicted along the way. We spent like approximately 7 freaking hours at Nilai looking for all the stuff and we went shop-by-shop to get better deal. 

I'm going to blog about the rest of the happenings as soon as the internet connection gets back to normal again. Fingers crossed for better internet connection!
