Just want to kill the time

Today, I sat for the torturing 3-hour Teaching Profession paper. My butt was slightly painful for sitting too long. My right hand was almost numb due to the continuous writing. Yup..non-stop writing for the whole damn 3 hours! Fuh...at least I'm glad that the exam is coming to an end. I just can't wait to go back. 1 more paper to go - Curriculum & Pedagogy. 5 down 1 more to go.

BTW, I'm extremely delighted when Manchester United defeated Barcelona 1-0 and qualified to the final of the Champion's League. Thanks to Scholes for the precious goal!

I just hope that Manchester United will not lose their focus and ensure that the Premier League title doesn't slip out of their grasp amid the euphoria of reaching European soccer's showpiece match on May 21 in Moscow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed so that Manchester United will grab the 2 important titles. Go United!

Today...In a nutshell...

I was extremely frustrated today! Why??

My favourite team - Manchester United lost to that damn Chelsea with just a mere 1 goal...C***i! Now, both the teams share the same point but MU still on the top. Go MU...you gotta do something to grab the trophy. No more losing please!

This morning, we had gotong-royong at our hostel. Frankly speaking, I was not keen to join it. I prefer to wake up late and hope that no body notices my absence...how I wish!

I was in still lying half-awake on my bed when the hostel suddenly turned into a chaos-like situation. Noisy!! So, I could not continue my sleep and looked at the other side of the room and saw my room mate was folding his blanket. Lazily, I woke up, stripped off (partially of coz) and put on my towel.

I opened the door, put on my japanese slipper (wow! sounds vogue!...selipar jamban actually) and strut like a model to the bathroom...muahahahaha. Aiya...too much influence from watching America's Next Top Model. So, I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I decided to not bath because of the gotong-royong thingy la. Later, kotor juga kan?

Went back to the room and joined the others...I officially ended my cleaning session approx. 30 minutes later. Hehe...boring bah...and joined fellow Sabahans and had chit-chat.

Augustine: Bos, apa macam?
Me: Aik?..Hehe..macam besa la...
Augustine: Bila ko balik KK?
Me: 8hb...lapas siurang abis exam.
Augustine: Aik? Awal juga? Oh ya..course kamu ikut stail U pula bah kan?
Me: Iya...cuti sem..tapi time tu kami ada R.O.S...
Augustine: Siok la kamu...kami lambat lagi mo cuti ni...
Me: Bah...jumpa jak di KK time kaamatan nanti kio! Saaanaa KDCA tingu Unduk Ngadau
Augustine: Bulih ba kalo ko...itu pun kalo dapat cari parking...tlampau ramai urang gia tu.

And the conversation went on and on and on...with different topics...hehe

After attended Mr. Mike's sit-on-the-staircase-class, I went to SP (Sarawak Plaza) with my buddies. Currently, there is a SALE going on at Lea Centre. All prices are being cut down half. Yes! 50% discount. Actually, I was planning to get another sweater and shoes. Since I'm a bit in a tight budget I had no choice than to choose either one of the must-buy-and-must-have stuffs!

Initially, I went to the shoes dept. and saw a few pairs that attracted my attention. All the Adidas shoes were damn nice (the price as well!)...but the thing is, there were only few designs and I saw 3 different people at the cashier counter paying for the same shoes!

So, shoes is in my KIV list. Then, I went to the clothing dept. and from far, I suddenly saw Nik paying for something. That 'something' is actually a blue with white stripes Adidas sweater. Damn nice...but what to do? He already bought it. Shit!

I walked around the shop with a plaster on my forehead (to cover the ugly pimple...hehe)and hoping to see a nice sweater. Since I'm a big fan of Manchester United, I went to the Nike section to find MU sweater...One of the staffs there asked me and as if she knew that I'm looking for MU sweater.

STAFF: Hello...kitak mo carik sweater MU ka?
ME: Aok..camne kitak tauk?
STAFF: *Grinned*...sori la...sikda gik stok...dah abis tek.
ME: Bena...? Ok la...sikpa la.

p/s: i'm still in the process of improving my Bahasa Melayu Sarawak.

So, I patronized the other dept. and had a hard time looking for a sweater that caught my attention. Almost giving up, I went to Adidas section and this one sweater attracted me. Not really my favourite but it was not too bad actually. The price is RM279 and they cut it half so it became RM139.50...grabbed it. Tried it. Paid it. It's mine!

All of a sudden, I was craving for McDonald. Found out that not only me craving for it, the others also felt the same. Haha! Lucky day for me...Without very much further ado, we went to the already-crowded McD. I ordered 1 McValue Meal Double Cheeseburger (Large) and Small McD Bubur Ayam. Nice!

After filling up our 'tank', we took a taxi and went to the church for Sunset Mass. God Bless Us...

A special dedication...

I came across with this poem when I was surfing the net and I thought this poem is special and full of thought...

My friends in Cohort 3 (as well as for those in Cohort 1 and 2)...this is for you

The Word farewell

I love the simple word hello
It always rings a joyful bell
But one of the saddest words i know
Is the oft times tearful word farewell.

The tearful mother hugs her son
Write to me when you're far away
And i will miss you when you're gone
And for your safe return I'll pray.

The word farewell oft times bring tears
And I've never known it to bring joy
In fact the time you say farewell
Could also mean your last goodbye.

I've used the word 'farewell' before
And I know what it really mean
I said farewell to dearest friends
And for years those friends i have not seen.

The word 'hello' a word i love
It always rings a joyful bell
But one word I don't like to hear
And that is the sad word 'farewell'.

Take extra good care of yourself!

It is no longer safe out there. We heard about bad news almost everyday. My dad called me today and told me about one horrible incident and even worse, it was happening in my place – Sabah. People…please take good care of yourself. Never walk alone! (Sounds familiar??)

Below is the news about the recent news about the abduction of a female UMS student in KK.

MAN HELD FOR STUDENT’S KIDNAP
17th April, 2008

Source: New Sabah Times

KENINGAU: Police have detained a man for questioning in connection with the abduction of a 22-year-old female Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) student. The 20-year-old suspect was caught near Kampung Rompon near here at about 12.15pm yesterday. Kota Kinabalu city police chief ACP Ahmad Sofi Zakaria told reporters here yesterday that they were now hunting the second suspect – a 34-year-old man from Bongawan.

Asked if the student who is from Sibu, Sarawak was sexually assaulted, Sofi said they have to wait for the report from the hospital here where she was being examined.

“This is the first such incident this year,” he added. The UMS student who lived in Kingfisher Park near her university in Kota Kinabalu is believed to have been abducted by the duo and brought to Tambunan at about 9.15pm on Tuesday.

The victim had just been dropped off by friends near a supermarket when two men in a blue Kancil grabbed and bundled her into their vehicle. One of her friends saw what happened and wrote down the Kancil car’s registration number.

And, as the vehicle sped off the police were notified and an all-point bulletin (APB) was immediately issued to police in the surrounding districts. Friends and concerned citizens quickly spread the urgent news of the kidnap incident through SMS and urged the people to be on the lookout for the Kancil car. There was no sign of the car until about 4am when a police mobile patrol vehicle spotted it some 100 kilometres away along the Tambunan-Keningau Road. A 16-mile high speed car chase ensued as the Kancil car headed towards the direction of Kota Kinabalu.

And when they were near Kampung Rompon, the pursuing cops fired several shots at the rear tyres of the abductors’ vehicle causing it to overturn and roll down a roadside slope.
The two suspects were seen fleeing the vehicle while the terrified girl with bruises on her face and body, was seen huddled in the back seat of the car. Police went to her rescue and rushed her to the hospital here, about 60km away from Tambunan. Covered with bloodstains, one of the two suspects had approached the Kampung Rompon villagers for help at about 11am. While several villagers were asking him to wait, one of them quickly ran to the policemen who were still at the scene not far away to alert them about the suspicious-looking injured man.
The policemen then followed the villager back and promptly arrested the suspect, said to be a resident of Kota Belud. The police air wing and dog units are currently involved in the hunt for the second suspect in the hilly and forested terrain. Police are also trying to piece together what transpired during the girl’s 10-hour terror ride from the state capital to Keningau district. Meanwhile Sofi thanked the public for their cooperation which led to the arrest of one of the two suspects. He also said the stolen Kancil car has been seized and impounded at the police station here.

Exam Season!

Pages flutter from texts and notes,
As I pore over them in the early morn
Clinging on to the faintest hope
That there might still be something I can learn
Cup after cup of coffee I down,
As the stained rims on the table increase,
No sleep for me, nor can I lounge
Until I am awake from this nightmarish dream.
The time dawns slowly and surely for me
To reluctantly enter the dreaded hall,
The point being as far as I can see,
To clear the paper, once and for all.
Never again shall I glance
At the despised pages of baffling intent,
Never again shall I let it chance,
To look upon those theories potent.
The precious hours slip by
And around me the scratching of pens
Become more furious as a sigh
Escapes from tired mouths now and then.
With depressing regularity the seconds tick on,
Until finally I have exhausted my knowledge on paper,
With agonizing slowness the invigilator floats on,
Indifferent to my beckoning eyes and heart’s caper.
It is over! Done with! At last!
For life and for the last time;
The open door I slip through fast
And whoop with joy that I had done fine.
As I rush on to the street
My heart surging with ecstasy
I rejoice that I might never meet
Those confounded books which bewilder me.

- Deblina Mittra

The moment that I fear the most is approaching and a few days shy from now. Honestly, I've not yet get myself ready for the 'war'. Seems like I have to burn the midnight oil starting from NOW.

I just don't like the atmosphere of exam. I wish that the exam could be abolished! *sigh*

Wish me luck for the coming exam! Break a leg...

Psycho Killer…

What would you do, if someone were trying to kill you (psychologically)?

What would you do, if someone were trying to take advantage on you?
What would you do, if someone were desperately trying to bring you down?
What would you do, if you seem to have difficulty in trusting other people?
What would you do….

I’m “holistically” sick

Indeed, I’m currently not feeling well. I mean “holistically” not feeling well. Err…not really holistic actually.

I’m sick:
Physically – I’m extremely exhausted now
Mentally – I’m stressed with assignments and exam
Emotionally – I’m sick with all the people around me! (not all la…)

Speaking of being EMOTIONALLY SICK, I was not in a good mood this morning when I entered the class (lecture room). My day was “ruined” by certain people who gave me a certain look. Put yourself in my shoes and how would you feel If you’re actually enthusiastic to enter the class and all of a sudden, this “moron” gave you a cynical look. Hello…it was early in the morning and I just can’t understand it.

I do believe if you’re having a bad day, you shouldn’t obviously reveal it and let the whole world know that you’re not in a good mood. At least, you can just keep silent and do you own thing. Don’t drag other people into your problem! I just hate it when people do such thing.

Frankly speaking, I started to lose my sense-of-belonging to my group (in IPBL). People tend to look down upon me and even trying their best to make me feel bad of myself. WTF! Hey…what is your problem? Are you feeling intimidated by me… because I do believe people who try to bring someone down are actually in the “insecure-zone” rather than in their “comfort-zone”.
I’m sick of trying to be ‘part of the group’ and putting a certain façade which makes me feel uncomfortable. It is just not me! I am what I am. So, if you don’t like me then I don’t give it a damn. Excuse me if I did anything wrong. Like what people always say, “People tend to make mistake”. Yes…I do agree with that but at least you should’ve told me about my mistakes. I’m open with criticism (in a good way of course!)

I remembered what my best friend told me before I left for Kuching.

“Steve, campus life is really tough. You need to have the strength…physical and emotional to endure all the challenges. It is not easy especially when you have nobody there to listen to your problems. My advice…pray to God and ask for His blessings.”

Thank you best friend. I will keep those words with me…
Oh gosh…I miss my REAL friends…I’m sick with all the FAKE friends.

I'm missing home...

Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm
Maybe surrounded by
A million people
I Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh, I miss you, you know
I have this tendency of thinking too much about home. Probably, this is what people called home sick. I really miss home. I miss my mum. I miss my dad. I miss my cats. I miss my car. *sigh* Sabar jak la...
It has been days since I updated my blog. It's not that I don't have time but it's the internet connection that makes me frustrated. The connection in my room seems to be slower and even worse, I sometimes couldn't get through the line! Sucks!
How I wish I could just fly back to KK. *sigh*
Daddy sent me SMS today. It says...
"We went back 2 Tambunan 2day. Everybody was asking abt u. The little ones miss u so much. They send their regards n wish u all the best 4 d coming exam. Ini' (grandma) is praying 4 yr success. OK. Take care."
I replied...
"Thanks...I really miss home. Can't wait for the next holiday."
As soon as I read the sms, I couldn't stop my tears from coming down. I realised how many people concern about me especially when I'm far away from home. I'm glad to be surrounded by them. Unfortunately, the sms didn't really cure my "home sick". In fact, it made it even worse.
Oh...I wanna go home.
