Kotobian Tadau Tagazo do Kaamatan kumaa saviavi tompinai doid nombo nopo! For those who are in KK, don't forget to pay a visit to the Hongkod Koisaan (KDCA) on the 31st May. I'm excited to see who will be crowned the next unduk ngadau.

For my friends in the neighboring state - Sarawak, Happy Gawai to you all! Enjoy the celebration and take good care of yourselves. Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai!

I hate traffic jam!

I hate traffic jam! Hate it so much! Almost every morning I have to endure the massive traffic jam along Putatan - KK road and it drives me crazy. Shortcuts?? Useless! Even the so-called shortcuts are also congested. Sabah government, please do something to curb this problem. The newly built flyover near the KK International Airport is not helping at all! I thought it's going to reduce the jam but unfortunately it becomes worse. The 3-lane road is also not well-done by the contractor; as I drive along the 3-lane highway it suddenly turns into 2-lane highway and turns into 3-lanes again then as I approach the flyover, it becomes 1-lane road! Gosh!! Not forgetting some of the roads with no lines in the middle and at the sides. Please! I can't take it any longer...

This is not in KK but the situation is similar - bumper-to-bumper!

An update...

Yeah I know...the title for this post is so lame and not interesting. Well, actually I have no idea on what to put as a title so I just simply put it as "an update". Apparently, this is an update because I have not been updating my blog for quite some time. My apology because I have no time to go online. For the past few days I was a little bit busy accompanying my friends for a trip around KK. It was the first time I became a freelance tourist guide. Since most of them were first timers in KK so I took them to the seafood restaurant in Kampung Air for a dinner. Thanks to them for the treat! We had a wonderful dinner and guess what...we had lobsters!! They were really excited for the lobsters because it was far way cheaper than in other place. KK is indeed well-known for its FRESH and CHEAP seafood. Hmm...not that cheap actually. Speaking of the price, that night we had to pay RM220 (if I'm not mistaken) for all the 5 dishes we ordered. Can you imagine spending RM220 for five (5) dishes - 4 seafood dishes and 1 vege. I think RM220 is only equavalent to 1 seafood dish in some other places. Nevertheless, I hope all of them enjoyed the dinner. Don't think too much about the price, most importantly, the experiencing of having fresh lobsters and I mean really fresh! The chose the lobsters from the aquarium.

I also brought them to Pekan Nabalu. For those who do not know anything about Pekan Nabalu, it actually a place where one get to see a clear view of Mount Kinabalu. Pekan Nabalu is located along the road from Tamparuli to Ranau. A little bit ahead of Pekan Nabalu is the famous Kinabalu National Park and Kundasang. I only brought them to Pekan Nabalu because the weather was not that good and I had to return to KK as soon as possible before the road got shrouded with thick mist.

I'm looking forward to see the pictures taken and read my friends' blog about the trip.

Another tsunami coming soon?

A close friend of mine sent me an e-mail titled "Fw: July 22nd 2009 another tsunami". I was curious and at the same time doubt the e-mail. So, I opened and read it:-

"Hello there. I just wanted 2 let you know that please stay away from the beaches all around in the month of July. There is a prediction that there will be another tsunami hitting on July 22nd. It is also when there will be sun eclipse. Predicted that it is going 2 be really bad and countries like Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak), Singapore, Maldives, Australia, Mauritus, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Philippines are going 2 be badly hit. Please try and stay away from the beaches in July. Better 2 be safe than sorry. Please pass the word around. Please also pray for all beings."

The attached image in the e-mail.

Noticed the typo in the image? The word "disaster" was spelt "distaster"! The misspelt word makes me feel doubtful about the credibility of the e-mail. I googled the topic of this e-mail and I was directed to this website:
http://www.snopes.com/science/tsunami.asp

So? What say you?

Anyhow, I just want to remind the people out there that thing like this ain't funny! This is not the first time I received this kind of "warning notice". I still remember the incident few years back when people in Sabah was in chaos due to the rumor that a tsunami was claimed to be approaching and few places in Sabah were already flooded! I was at home watching tv that night and I received a text message from a friend telling me whether I heard about the rumor. Both my friend and I doubted it.
That very night, due to the rumor, many people lost their belongings!! I wonder who was the culprit behind it...

Elieena & Johan wedding reception (21 March 2009)

My friend, Elieena, officially got married yesterday at Jabatan Agama Islam Sarawak where the "Akad Nikah" ceremony was conducted. Today, my friends and I attended her wedding reception at her parents-in-law beautiful house cum restaurant at Tebedu. Yes. It is a house and restaurant. I like the Javanese elements at the wedding reception. For those who do not know, her husband is half Malay and Javanese. So, the Javanese elements are apparent in the wedding. Here are some of the pictures taken by me during the function. Enjoy!
